I wasn’t aware of Richard Jewell’s story until I saw a trailer for Clint Eastwood’s film. But the fact it was based on reality made it even more compelling.

Beyond the classic titles, my knowledge of the war film genre isn’t wonderful. That’s why I was so stunned when Sam Mendes’ 1917 ended up being one of the best films I’ve ever seen.

Louisa May Alcott’s Little Women has been adapted for the screen many times before, with the earliest screen version dating all the way back to a silent film in 1917. It’s a tale that everyone is aware of, even if they haven’t experienced it for themselves.

Since I’ve lived my whole life in the UK, I hope you can forgive my ignorance about Mister Rogers’ career. Whilst I knew who he was, I definitely didn’t have the same emotional connection to him as my friends overseas.

Divorce has been depicted many times onscreen, as it’s one of those difficult realities about adult relationships. There’s still a lot of stigma around the breakdown of a marriage, but Marriage Story deals with the topic in a very raw and unique way.
